It was a very, very, very cold day in Paris, so D and I decided that it would be a great day to visit the Louvre. Oh, it was so very cold ... oh my goodness. After queuing outside for a little while (eeeek!), we made it into the museum and became happily ensconced in its toasty, toasty warmth. Also happily, D and I were quite content to wander through the various wings at a similar pace, thereby ensuring an angst-free visit :) I got to see my equal first favourite work of art: Canova's Psyche Revived by Cupid's Kiss* (my other equal first favourite is Michelangelo's David - I think that sculpture is just amazing - and have always loved his quote: "I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free") and to find Winged Victory or the famed Mona Lisa? Well ... just follow the crowds ... !
